Saturday evening was spent with Nicole and Josh, who are getting married at Estancia in September.  Nicole and Josh were referred to me by their coordinator–and my old friend–Heather Balliet of Amorology.  Nicole and Josh played softball and baseball, respectively, at UCSD, so I’m really excited to see what they come up with for their wedding!

The first part of the shoot was done downtown, near Petco Park.  We then headed to Coronado for some sunset goodness.  Nicole and Josh were total naturals in front of the camera and I’m really excited to work with them on their wedding day!

On Sunday evening I met Amy and Geoff, who are getting married in August at the La Costa Resort and Spa, in La Jolla for their engagement shoot.  It was a gorgeous evening in LJ, evident by the buzz of tourists and lack of parking.  In fact, as I made my third or fourth loop around the block in search of a parking spot, Amy and Geoff waved to me from the intersection, and I could see by their grins that they were clearly relishing in my frustration.

Right from the start, Amy and Geoff were into it.  Sometimes it takes some warming up to get couples comfortable in front of the camera, but Amy and Geoff jumped right in with great expressions and laughs.  They were referred to me by Libby and Ravi (see pix on the old blog here), who’s wedding I photographed back in March, and it’s been so fun to get to know the four of them and their great group of friends.

After Erin and I wrapped up her bridal session–and we deftly negotiated La Jolla traffic while Scott unknowingly trailed us in his car–we met up with Scott and rolled right into the engagement session.  Not surprisingly, Erin and Scott were great.  After meandering the streets of La Jolla for a while, we headed to 9-10 for a quick cocktail.  We finished up with some images on the beach.  Enjoy!

I spent Monday evening photographing Kristen and Tom’s engagement session in Solana Beach. Kristen and Tom are getting married in Hawaii in September and I’m excited and honored to photograph their wedding. We had a great time shooting their engagement pictures, and afterward we grabbed some sushi and beers at Masuo’s, which is where Kristen and Tom had their first date. Here are some of my faves from the shoot.

Libby and Ravi are two of the coolest, most down-to-earth people one would ever hope to meet. Since they moved from Boston to California a few weeks back (they’re moving to San Francisco in the beginning of August), the three of us have been quite the power trio–sipping fine wine at the Four Seasons and spending yesterday shooting engagement images on the streets of Del Mar.

We started the shoot over some drinks at the Enoteca at the Del Mar Plaza, then wandered the streets of Del Mar before heading down to the beach. When passers-by would ask what the purpose was for our shoot, the response was that Libby was a former reality-show contestant and that the shoot was for US Weekly’s “They’re just like us!” section. Libby and Ravi are both so good looking that people actually believed us, until yours truly blew our cover by spilling the beans to some valet.
